Just saw a tweet from one of my favorite Vancouver bands, The Belle Game, that they’re headed back out on tour this fall, and will play their way through Edmonton on November 5th at the Pawn Shop. Many of the dates, including the Edmonton gig, are with their citymates, Bear Mountain, who were at Sled Island this summer.
I’m pretty excited about that gig, as I missed part of their set last time because of the line waiting to get into the Starlite Room. Although now that I think about it, it’s the day after the Mazzy Star show in Seattle – so it’s only about 70/30 I see them this time around at all. At any rate, full itinerary below of course. They’re a great, great band, you should get out there and support them.
The Banff gig seems pretty cool, apparently the band’s going to be part of the Banff Centre’s Indie Music Residency program this fall (which I’ve actually never heard of before), and they’ll be rehearsing, recording, working on new tune, with some rather famous producers like Hal Willner, Shawn Everett, Charles Spearin, and Kevin Drew of BSS. The date below is a public showcase where you’ll no doubt get to hear some of the stuff they’ve been working on. If only I could think of a good excuse to head to Banff.
PS – in the midst of exchanging tweets with the band, also found out they’re really close to having the vinyl pressing of Ritual Tradition Habit completed, and will probably have some on tour with them – the later dates (like here in Edmonton) at any rate.
