The Albertans – “Jason” Video / “Dangerous Anything” Drops September 10 / Tour Dates

by New Music Michael on August 12 2013

The Albertans are getting set to release their third album, titled “Dangerous Anything”, on September 10 (Ernest Jenning). Frontman Joel Bravo and the rest of the band were beginning to make waves in the beloved New York City, had even scored a record deal after a stellar CMJ show, when they started considering moving elsewhere. In an interview back in April 2009 in L Magazine, Bravo discussed possibly heading to Vancouver, which is where they eventually did move to and now call home.

“Since we formed, we’ve spent much time in Vancouver. It’s a little harrowing, but 4/5 of the band is originally from Canada. And Canada is a very supportive place to play music”.

And just in case you’re curious, and I certainly was, the band’s name came about as two of their four members are from our fair province of Alberta – percussionist Alison Yip hails from Calgary, and bassist Ian Everall is from Sherwood Park.

Besides the album, there’s a new video for the track “Jason”, which you can stream above; and of course, concert dates. Best of luck, guys.
