On An On – “The Hunter” Video / On Tour

by New Music Michael on July 19 2013

One of my favorite new bands of 2013 has to be On An On, a trio out of Chicago and Minneapolis whose album “Give In” I reviewed in the spring and gave an unqualified 8.0 to (that’s a pretty rare rating for me if you were wondering). Here’s their origin story from a post of mine earlier this year:

Turns out the trio – Nate Eiesland, Alissa Ricci, and Ryne Estwing – were three-fifths of an indie-pop outfit named Scattered Trees. With studio time coming up and the other two members working on other projects not anywhere nearby, the three scrapped the material they had and started from scratch in the studio as ON AN ON.

Soaring guitars, swooping drums, a true sharknado of audio that is concise, refined, and so well put-together you’d think they’re a band of ten years, not one or two.

And how the hell did I miss their video for “The Hunter”, and not post it? No idea, but I’m correcting that now. They also just recently announced a swackload of tour dates for September, see below to see if you’re one of the lucky cities they’re coming to (Hands is supporting dates denoted with a *).
