Halifax indie-folk artist Paper Beat Scissors (aka Tim Crabtree) is almost minimalist in many ways; his sparse, particular guitars coalesce with a haunting voice, the east coast influences combining with his British heritage. The kind of music that would sound great outdoors on a summer afternoon, or equally amazing in a small club.
Having just concluded a European tour, Crabtree has announced he’s signed with German label Ferryhouse. The Hamburg label plans to release his EP “Live at St. Matthew’s Church” in June, and then an eponymous debut full-length sometime into the fall.
In the meantime, he’ll be performing throughout various Canadian cities this summer, with dates that stretch from Toronto to Victoria, including, yep you guessed it, Sled Island in Calgary. He’ll also do a couple of shows in Edmonton prior to his appearance at The Sled. Catch him if you can.
