One of Edmonton’s favorite bands, Shout Out Out Out, is back with another track. Called “I Hope I Don’t Find Out”, it’s from their upcoming “The NMC Sessions” EP, which was recorded while the band was performing a residency at National Music Centre in Calgary, using instruments from NMC’s collection of rare keyboards and synthesizers.
There’s some pretty cool effects baked into the song thanks to those instruments, and while the song is perhaps a little more sedate than many they put out, it’s still completely captivating listening. Like spending a spring day in an outdoor pool, never allowing anything other than your head to break the surface. Staring up at the sky. Your only thought, how long can I stay in the pool until my fingers get really, really wrinkled.
The band’s getting ready to head out on tour – no local date at this point, but they will be hitting the other prairie provinces, and Austin for South By Southwest. Make sure to check them out if they’re heading your way, and don’t forget ,their album “Spanish Moss And Total Loss”, is currently available.
