So who else should announce a tour yesterday but another UK band,The XX. Hot on the hells of their own album release last fall. “Coexist” was the name of it. Their sophomore album. I sort of fell in love with their opening album, featuring the track “Crystalised”, but there’s some good material on this one too.
And what caught my attention more than anything. Well, okay, what caught my attention period was a friend on twitter mentioning they’re coming here to Edmonton. But, you know, to be complete, and fair, I’m listing their entire North America itinerary below.
But yeh, they are playing here in Edmonton on May 22, and then two days later in Vancouver. They might be a little tuckered, though, because on the 20th they’ve got a gig in Amsterdam of all places. That’s a really crappy, long flight. Trust me, I’ve done it. Well, not quite that trip, but last March Heather and I did a Vienna-London-Edmonton haul for reasons which, well, my bestest friends know why. And if you’re good at math, you could probably figure it out too.
Anyways, tickets for the Edmonton show go on sale Friday. Through ticketfly. Which has had some issues so far in their not-so-merry adventure north of the border. So I’m not going to hold my breath, but I’ll try and give it a whirl and see what kind of luck I have.
PS – not often a tour ends in Kansas City either.
