It would appear as though I missed the release of the Jezabels’ LP “Prisoner” when it dropped in November 2011. It’s now available, of course, and one of the tracks it features is “City Girl”, for which the video was just released.
I first became aware of the Jezabels from an innocent little email from their pressfolk last, well, November, a few days before they opened up for a Canadian favorite Hey Rosetta! So I saw them live back then. I probably knew their album was dropping or had just dropped but forgot to mention it. My bad. I think they’re well on their way, and apparently that feeling is shared by some pretty damned important bookers, as I see they’ll be playing Lollapalooza in August, and Bumbershoot in September in Seattle. Best of luck to them, but it doesn’t really seem like they need it any longer.
