Album Drops – November 22 2011

by New Music Michael on November 22 2011

It’s a great, nay, extraordinary week for yours truly, as two of my favorite artists of the last couple of years drop new albums today. Honheehonhee, who was in town last week at Wunderbar, drop “Shouts” (which they were selling at the show, I’ve had it since then); and of course one of my favorites since I started the blog, Gardening Not Architecture.

Apples In Stereo – Funtrick Noisemaker (Yep Roc)

Asking Alexandria – Stepped Up and Scratched (Sumerian)

Bush, Kate – 50 Words For Snow (Anti/Epitaph).

Cloud Control – Bliss Release (TNO). Pictured. North American release of their very popular album; click here to stream the video for “Gold Canary”, a completely infectious indie pop track.

Cornell, Chris – Songbook (Hip-O)

Fonda – Better Days (Minty Fresh)

Gardening Not Architecture – Saboteur (na). I have so much to say about this album it gets its own post. Click here.

Honheehonhee – Shouts (na). I’ve been raving about this band since the summer, and finally we get to say hello to their debut full-length. Eight gorgeous tracks of insane lusciousness. You can also stream their video “A Is For Animal” using this link; or check out photographs from their Wunderbar set using this link.

Nemesea – The Quiet Resistance (Napalm)

Perry, Brendan – Ark (Vinyl 180)

Sea Lions – Grown Up (Slumberland)

Strange Boys – Live Music (Rough Trade)

Sunbears! – You Will Live Forever (na). Stream the video for “Give Love A Try” here.

Tanner Gordon and the Unfortunates – We Talked Of Shadows (na). Sonic 102.9’s current band of the month has a release party for this sophomore album scheduled for this Friday at the Pawn Shop here in Edmonton. Well worth the $5 entrance fee.
